{"id":2045,"date":"2019-12-13T12:06:19","date_gmt":"2019-12-13T01:06:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/caseyweeklycranbourne.com.au\/?p=2045"},"modified":"2019-12-13T12:10:19","modified_gmt":"2019-12-13T01:10:19","slug":"2045","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/caseyweeklycranbourne.com.au\/2019\/12\/13\/2045\/","title":{"rendered":"Transformation: Shed Skatepark into a high-performance facility"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Athletes who will represent Australia for Tokyo Olympics 2020 can start their early celebration as the City of Casey and Skate Australia funded the upgrades of the Shed Skatepark into a high-performance training facility.<\/p>\n<p>Casey Mayor Cr Susan Serey, is excited about the positive impact the facility will have on the community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe upgrades are a very exciting addition to this already very popular venue, and will no doubt open up different opportunities for our grassroots athletes to reach their full potential and progress to higher levels of their sport,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>The upgrade will include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Stage one of the upgrades commenced last month and included the installation of a world class \u2018street course,\u2019 with adjustable rails that can be used by all levels from beginner to elite.<\/li>\n<li>Due to commence in January, stage two upgrades will include the installation of a \u2018Resi Surface\u2019 extended onto the vert ramp (half pipe). Made with a foam base, the resi provides skaters completing big tricks with a safe and soft landing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The community is welcome to come and check out the upgrades in progress and once the upgrades are completed all community members will have access to the state of the art facility!<\/p>\n<p>In the meantime, The Shed Skatepark is open as normal with only certain sections closed off at certain periods to accommodate these works.<\/p>\n<p>Once all the upgrades are completed, all community members will have access to the state of the art facility.
